Whether it’s hubris or a pathological avoidance of reality, Ballmer & Co. have serious sand to act like they’ve invented anything revolutionary or somehow more useful than anything that’s come before.

I don’t care to spend my time trying to make my data play nicely across devices. I’d rather spend my time getting things done. If using the Gmail web client represents a step downward on the technological ladder, I’m content to come down off my mount and dwell with the commoners.

Unfortunately, it’s just not the same anymore. I feel like we’ve grown apart, that our relationship was all based on that initial spark of excitement. Now that we’ve really gotten to know each other, we’ve found that our priorities are just different.
